What the heck is Story Slam?

Story Slam! Charlotte is the vision of Mark Woods, Randell Haynes and others as a result of their work with the Playwrights Project/New River Dramatists, a North Carolina-based research and development initiative.
Woods and Haynes wanted a less-than-conventional outlet work developed by New River Dramatists. Also, the pair were motivated by a desire to offer spirited, meaningful and compensated opportunities to regional artists.
The black box theater is at 1401 Central Ave., Suite 103, in the heart of Charlotte’s Plaza Midwood neighborhood.
